A quick note from us: Wormtown Weekly is considering a slight shift in our format. Based on the polls we’ve been putting out, it’s clear what you’re most hungry for each week — upcoming events (especially the free ones), live music, and community news. Those are the hot topics, so you’ll start to see us gradually put more focus there to make the newsletter even more useful and easier to scan.

That said, this newsletter isn’t just “ours” — it’s yours, too. You have a real say in what we cover. What's moving and shaking in Worcester County

August Coffee opens in downtown Worcester

Worcester’s coffee scene has a new addition with August Coffee now operating downtown at 548 Main Street. The shop’s own website lists current hours and location, while Patch previously reported the opening as a new locally owned concept across from The Hanover Theatre.

Why it matters: A new independently owned coffee shop in the downtown core gives readers something concrete and current to check out, and it adds to the steady reshaping of Main Street’s street-level business mix.

Sutton Bikeworks gets a chamber ribbon-cutting spotlight

The Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce listed a Sutton Bikeworks ribbon cutting on March 20, signaling a fresh business milestone in Sutton. The chamber also lists Sutton Bike Works among its new members for early 2026.

Why it matters: A hot market for sellers and opportunity for home services and real estate pros.

Wooden Bar is adding a bakery operation in Worcester

The Wooden Bar is adding a bakery operation through a collaboration with the owners of B.Food. The new setup will shift the restaurant into bakery service during morning hours, with plans to begin production out of the Worcester space and open the bakery in March or April.

Why it matters: his kind of expansion keeps an existing Worcester business evolving and creates a new daytime option in the city rather than simply adding another night-focused restaurant concept.

The Dog Spaw is a new grooming and spa business for dogs at 10 Richmond Ave. in Worcester, with its social pages and grand-opening posts highlighting services and booking information.

Table 12 Kitchen & Bar renovation is complete in West Boylston

Renovations are complete at Table 12 Kitchen & Bar and a ribbon cutting was held March 19 at 175 West Boylston Street in West Boylston to celebrate and introduce the new owners.

Meet Frito

Frito is a 3 years, 2 months old female Pit Bull Terrier/Mix who weighs 44 pounds.

Meet Frito, a sweet, loving and sensitive pittie who is looking for a fresh start. Frito can be shy at first and will bark at new people but with time (and some of her favorite treats) she warms up. She will need multiple meets before she feels comfortable enough to start her next chapter. Once she has warmed up Frito loves to be with her people and get all the attention she deserves. She will even jump up and give hugs!

Frito is very curious about the world and loves to learn. She loves to go for walks and is extremely food motivated. She will happily show off her sit if it means she'll get a treat. She has enjoyed puzzle toys and is eager to please.

Frito is looking for adopters who will spend time getting to know her gentle soul and can continue to build her confidence throughout her life. She would do best with calm older teens who understand shy dogs and would prefer to be the only dog in the house.
