Wormtown Weekly

YOUR LOCAL WORCESTER AREA DIGEST

Hi everyone, welcome to thursday...

Clocks are springing forward this Sunday, March 8th—which means we’re officially entering that sweet spot where daylight sticks around a little longer and spring doesn’t feel like a fairy tale anymore. 🌤️

So pour a fresh cup, shake the salt off your boots, and settle in—this week’s Wormtown Weekly is packed with local buzz, community happenings, and a few good reasons to get out of the house (even if you’re still side-eyeing the forecast). Let’s do this, Wormtown. 🪱

In This Week's Issue:

  • Green Hill garden plots open
  • A brick-and-mortar Bees And Thank You
  • Diamond Café opens in Northborough

New Poll This Week!

But first, lets talk about our previous poll. The most answered poll is to the question of “What do you want more of?” and with more than a 60% margin the winner is “Local Events”. Thank you for that feedback and I will absolutely focus on that section going forward.

Now on to our new poll

Local Business & Community Buzz

What's moving and shaking in Worcester County

Worcester Public Market is adding a brick-and-mortar for Bees And Thank You

Bees And Thank You (the grilled-cheese food truck) is expected to open its first storefront inside Worcester Public Market (160 Green St.). Patch notes the business planned to open in February but hadn’t shared an exact opening date at the time of reporting.

Why it matters: The Public Market staying fresh with new vendors keeps foot traffic in Kelley Square strong—and it’s another reason to swing through downtown for a quick bite.

Nick’s Golden Pizza and More opens a second Shrewsbury location

Nick’s Golden Pizza and More opened a second Shrewsbury shop at 299 Hartford Turnpike, according to Patch, expanding beyond its long-running presence in the area.

Why it matters: A local staple expanding usually means the demand is real—and it’s another convenient option for families along Route 20.

Green Hill Park community garden plots are open for applications

Worcester has opened applications for the Green Hill Park Community Garden plots—124 raised beds (plus additional ground-level and accessible beds) with on-site amenities like water access, a storage shed, lighting, and security cameras. Applications are first-come, first-served and are open through April 3, 2026.

Why it matters: This is an easy, local way for residents to grow food, stretch grocery budgets, and plug into a community space—especially as we head into planting season.

Northborough’s Diamond Café is now open on Main Street

Diamond Café lists its address as 291 Main St, Northborough, with daily hours (7am–3pm) and breakfast/lunch plus ice cream and açaí, with “dinner (coming soon)” noted on its site.

Why it matters: A fresh café option on Main Street is the kind of small win that adds momentum downtown—especially when it’s open seven days a week.
